In the United States, there are four credit reporting bureaus; Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, and Innovis. You’ve likely never heard of Innovis, and that is because that bureau doesn’t currently have any effect when credit worthiness is being calculated.

If after checking your credit reports, you find errors, you can contact the three credit reporting bureaus at these addresses:

The managers of the credit bureaus and the people who enter information into each person’s credit report are all humans, and because they are humans, they can make errors. It is of the utmost importance that each person gets copies of and checks their credit reports for errors. Sometimes errors can be corrected with a phone call or through snail mail.
